Protecting Children

Protecting Children

One of several measures I’m fighting for this legislative session is a bill that requires an applicant to make disclosures and meet certain standards before being allowed to obtain a life insurance policy on a juvenile. Unfortunately, children are now being targeted for their insurance policies and changes need to be made to life insurance regulations. Unbelievably, people have taken out insurance on children, so they can murder them for the insurance money. Currently, companies have no standards to prevent individuals from doing something so inhumane. Insurance companies need to take responsibility and our bill will mandate that they tighten underwriting standards and procedures prior to writing life insurance policies on minors.
